After 20 hours we arrived. As usual, we just made it in perfect timing to catch our first flight...and our second flight...our third flight was casually late which was the worst leg of our journey. By then, our kindles had died, phones died, plane didn't have movies and we had been eating airplane food nonstop. The last leg of the journey was just plain painful.

The smiling faces of Thea( Aunt in Greek) Evagelina and cousins Haroula and Evalina met us as we exited the Greek airport. We were whisked to their home where we relaxed in the Greek sun, at a light dinner and and had the best sleep of our lives, especially after being up for 24 hours for an hour or two or sleep and drinking a nice cold glass of sikoudia- the equivalent of moonshine. Kids were traveling troopers as usual equally excited about watching all the movies they wanted to in between checking the monitor for the altitude, speed and where we were. I had high hopes they would read, color, engage in other activities but really, their roles models were watching as many movies as they could- what else can you do in a loud sardine can anyway.

Someone is really tired and grumpy

Last leg of flight. Most people on this four hour flight had previous flights. Everyone around us was sleeping, including this cute kiddo.

  1. Thanks for the update. Sounds great. Glad you all made it there safely. What do you mean "made the first plane in time"? Does that mean you ran for it again? When we go to Italy, we will be at the airport the day before! Ha, ha. Only kidding! Enjoyed the pictures and commentary. It is interesting.

    1. :) We made our flights- enough said :) It helps to have kids because they always bump us through the security.
