Arriving in Chania

1st Day in Kolymbari

Arrived in Chania at 6 am from overnight ferry. Had the perfect first day starting with Iordani's Bougatsa http://www.iordanis.gr/   and then brought this to another cafe so the boys and I could have coffee and chocolate croissants. As Paul unwrapped his bougatsa, the server said," Oh wow Idoanis bougatas, perfect!" The bougatsa is a tradition for Paul as his dad would take him and Disa  for bougatsa when they arrived in Chania by bus. This bakery still makes things the old way, has the original scale and bougatsa is served on a metal plate etched with years of knife markings and fork scrapings. This is the only item served at this bakery!

We saw the famed stray dogs of Athens and found a replacement for Odi! ( Just kidding Odi)
The rest of the day was spent cleaning and unpacking and eating cake brought over by Paul's friend Thanassi.
arrival in Crete!

Bougatsa!

Up all night, but nothing coffee and bougatsa and croissants can't fix

Stray but well fed dog.
Thanassi brought over a delicious cake from his wife's family's bakery.
